RAINHILL PROUDLY CELEBRATES 2022 GCSE RESULTS

Rainhill High School celebrates Year 11 students and their excellent GCSE results. After the disruption to education over the past two years, Rainhill High School is delighted to report outstanding achievements in GCSE and BTEC results this year, with grades improving on the last published GCSE results of 2019.

The number of students who have achieved a pass in both English and Maths - the benchmark required by most college courses and apprenticeships - is 55% 9-5 ‘strong pass’ and 77% 9-4 ‘pass’. Both of these results are significantly up on the last published results from 2019. The school has also seen an increase in the average GCSE grade achieved.

• Kimberley Howarth, who has achieved seven Grade 9s, one Distinction* and one grade 8

• Lydia Tonner and Sofie Owen, who have made phenomenal progress across all subjects

• Aaron Walker, who has achieved five grade 9s and four grade 8s

• Owen Dagnall, who has achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8

“Results are significantly up on our last (2019) results and represent the hard work, tenacity and determination shown by all of our students in what have been very challenging circumstances. We are very proud of all our students, who, despite the challenges have achieved highly and shown real character through the pandemic. Our students are now able to pursue their next steps in education, training or employment with the right skills, knowledge and confidence required to succeed. We are looking forward to seeing many students back with us in Rainhill Sixth this September.”
